- Prepare by cleaning and shaving (if necessary) the area before applying.
- Apply a thick amount of numbing cream (2mm thick) to the area and rub in thoroughly.
- For maximum numbing effect, leave cream for at least 45 minutes - 1 hour prior to procedure. No more, no less.
- Adults & Children 12 years and older, clean the affected area.
- Spray modestly on the area for which pain relief is desired.
- Wait a few minutes to measure the numbing effect.
- Re-apply as needed, up to 3 times daily.
Tattoo Aftercare: The Do's
1. Keep It Clean
- Immediately after the session: Your artist will cover your tattoo with a protective barrier. This is to prevent airborne bacteria from invading your wound. The dressing can usually be removed after a few hours, as advised by your artist.
- Washing: Gently wash your tattoo area twice a day with lukewarm water and mild, antimicrobial soap. Let the area dry completely.
2. Moisturize
- Hydration is key: After cleaning, apply a thin layer of your Painless Tattoo Aftercare product. This keeps the tattoo hydrated and promotes healing. Keep it moisturized. BUT, Avoid over-moisturizing, as this can suffocate the tattoo and cause issues.
3. Protect From the Sun
- Do not expose your fresh tattoo to the sun until healed.
- Sunscreen: Once healed, protect your tattoo from sun damage by applying a high-SPF, broad-spectrum sunscreen. This prevents fading and maintains the vibrancy of your tattoo.
4. Allow Time to Heal
- Patience: Healing times vary, but generally, a tattoo takes about 2-4 weeks to heal on the surface and up to 6 months below the surface. Follow your artist’s advice and give your skin the time it needs.
5. Wear Appropriate Clothing
- Loose and breathable: Opt for clothing that doesn’t rub against your new tattoo. Natural fabrics like cotton allow the skin to breathe and heal.
6. Avoid Water Immersion
- No swimming or soaking: Keep your tattoo out of pools, hot tubs, and bathtubs until it fully heals to avoid infection and ink loss.
7. Temporarily Modify Workouts
- Be careful with: Heavy sweating and stretching of the skin can hinder the healing process. Limit intense physical activity for a bit,

One packet(dose) numbs 1/4 an arm for 2-4 hours. If your procedure is longer than 1-2 hours, or painful area is larger than 1/4 an arm, we recommend 3-5 packets(doses) in most cases to ensure you have enough.

We changed the packaging of Painless Tattoo™ Numbing Cream for several reasons.
- To promote better sanitation. Despite our old tubes being equal to one dose, many customers would attempt to save them. Once a product like this is open, beyond sanitary concerns, the product can also lose it's potency.
- To reduce the shipping mishaps. The new sachet (packet) format nearly eliminates the possibility of tubes being damaged in transit.

A mild reaction (paleness or redness of the skin, slight puffiness, initial burning or itching) may temporarily occur in the area where the cream is used. This is not uncommon and should disappear in a short while. If you experience any troublesome or unusual effects, stop using it and check with your doctor or pharmacist as soon as possible. If you know that you are prone to having sensitive skin, please test just a small amount first. Keep in mind that some minor localised redness is normal. If you have VERY sensitive skin or allergies, you should consider whether this product is right for you or not.
